Our Story

In November 2023, as a 3rd Degree Black Belt with over 20 years of martial arts experience, Sifu Matt decided to expand his Kung Fu journey by opening up his own school and system of Shaolin Kung Fu.

 

He was inspired to bring more depth to his students’ Kung Fu journeys. His accredited curriculum ensures nationally recognised grade standards through the BMABA. It encourages students to diligently balance practice of the internal as well as the external arts of Shaolin.

 

Sifu Matt also believes in the experimental and playful aspects of martial arts, being open-minded to interpretation and variation as well as respecting the wisdom of prescribed ancient forms. He teaches martial arts in the hope of bringing positive change to the lives of the students he has the privilege of teaching. Inclusivity is therefore a core value at Red Dragon where we hope to welcome anyone from any walk of life to show them the power of Kung Fu.
